Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition marked by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and/or impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning. The main specifiers are predominantly inattentive presentation, predominantly hyperactive/impulsive presentation, and combined presentation; severity is often described as mild, moderate, or severe.
Common symptoms people notice include difficulty focusing, losing track of tasks, disorganization, forgetfulness, fidgeting, restlessness, interrupting others, and trouble waiting one’s turn. In adults, this often shows up as poor time management, procrastination, missed deadlines, difficulty following through, and frequent distractibility
